MOTHCOV has been a project for me for the last 7 years or so. It has followed me through my life and is a major catalyst for me as an artist. It has been pushed to the side in favor of my physical work during highschool and reworked many times over, and I finally feel as if I have a solidifed and malliable enough technical practice that will allow it to continue and naturally evolve over time while still maintaining its core concepts. It is very difficult to balance sequential arts with my studio work- despite being one practice in my mind, in an academic sense, I simply cannot focus on the comic as much as I'd like to. No one seems to care much, which makes sense, considering I have only 25 pages of a nearly 100 page first volume out of likely 10 or more. Progress is painfully slow. However, I am putting everything I possibly can into this work and it is always in the back of my mind.I am so happy to begin with this first chapter and share with you. Please stay tuned, I am really excited about what I have planned.
